Well, tomorrow is the big day! I thought it would never come. My parents and I fly out of Denver at 10 AM and then after a stop in Atlanta, off to Switzerland we go!
Honestly, I can't believe I'm actually doing this! But here goes nothing :)
People ask me all the time if I'm excited or scared. Here's the honest answer:
I'm absolutely terrified. I'm completely excited. And just about every emotion in between.
I'm excited to meet my host family. I'm excited to travel Europe. I'm excited to see a whole new part of the world. The list goes on and on! But, as always, there's two sides to that coin! I'm terrified of being in a sea of people that I can't talk to. I'm scared that our car will get stolen (as EVERYONE has been telling me it will - stupid, I know. But, it bothers me none-the-less). I'm scared of being so alone (But it won't be too bad - Thank heavens for technology, eh?! Home's just a phone call away, whew!).
But, as I've been learning a lot lately, although my circumstances aren't always what I'd choose, I can choose my attitude. And I'm determined to make my excitement outweigh my fears. This will be good :)
